Process

We manufacture and supply marquetry in 3 versatile and practical forms. Whatever the end use, every piece is made to order with your chosen finish, enabling application into or on your choice of surface.  Every piece is given the Marq approval before dispatch.

Our new applied Marquetry systems, incorporating either your own design or one of ours, can be supplied for application onto your substrate/material in three different forms: –

Marq I     Marquetry is laid onto a craft paper top to be pressed, sanded, and polished by the manufacturer.

Marq II     Our new ground-breaking form, we lay the marquetry on a thin aluminium sheet and sand. This is then ready to be glued onto a panel/door for polishing/lacquering.

Marq III     We take our new aluminium backed form and fully sand, polish, and finish. This is now a fully finished component that is ready to be glued onto a finished item.

Paper backed

Suitable for manufacturers with the resources to press and finish.

Aluminium backed, un-finished

Suitable for customers who want to incorporate marquetry into a piece of furniture or joinery before finishing.

Fully finished, aluminium backed

Ideal for customers who want to incorporate a fully finished panel. Available in a range of finishes from matt to high gloss.

Veneer Cutting

Laser technology is used in harmony with traditional techniques to cut the component veneer pieces for our marquetry jigsaw.

Marquetry Shading

Hot sand is used to singe the marquetry pieces, creating an ombre effect.  Perfect balance is achieved by experienced craftspeople who know the exact degree of shading for that perfectly balanced picture created by the designer.
