Commissioned by Glenlivet to present ‘The Winchester Collection’ 50-year-old single malt, this masterpiece of maple and copper in cylindrical form pushed the boundaries of what is possible. With over 1200 manufacturing processes in each box, many of which were hand crafted, our biggest challenge was to manufacture with consistency in order to meet the exacting standards of Glenlivet.
Working with Designer, Bethan Gray, this project was 18 months in development, and we are incredibly proud to be associated with this collection as it is a true testament to the craft skills we have at our disposal.
This exclusive set has a superb outer case enclosing two marquetry inner boxes. The combination of blue mother of pearl, marquetry and solid silver, together with custom-made ironmongery is a statement of luxury craftsmanship.
The exclusivity of these pieces lies not only in our ability to create to our customer’s specification but also in the materials used.
The Royal Opera House in Muscat is the Sultanate of Oman’s leading arts and cultural venue. Shamsian was commissioned to design and supply all of the marquetry and a selection of the finest furnishings and wall panelling.
The completion of the project is a stunning masterpiece of classic design influenced by the rich heritage and culture of the Sultanate of Oman.

One of most iconic structures in Oman, the Sohar Mosque covers almost 29 thousand square meters. The honour and prestige of being a partner in this international project is testament to Shamsian’s reputation.
The external facade was designed, manufactured and installed in-house. The breath-taking ceramics and gypsum, together with an array of colour and design exemplifies not only Shamsian’s expertise but also the many and varied elements and techniques used.
Commissioned by Harrods as part of the London Design festival, this beautifully executed Model town house was exhibited in store as part of the festival’s “House of design Exhibition”.
Designed by Bethan Gray the piece illustrates Shamsian’s skill in working to scale with fine and intricate detailing. The dyed maple marquetry combined with solid brass overlay illustrates the precision of our manufacturing expertise.
From concept to completion, the skill and meticulous attention to detail is evident in all of Shamsian’s classic and contemporary works. Whether unique, bespoke-luxury, collaborations or commissions, the finest materials are incorporated into each piece.
The use of wood, marble, metal and glass to name but a few, combined with traditional craft techniques and up to the minute technology, ensure the finished work reflects the artistry and heritage of a master craftsman.
